Hack TJ 2025
Every year TJHSST hosts HackTJ, a student-run hackathon where bright minds come to code away and have 24 hours to create programs using the latest Artificial Intelligence/machine learning technology. It is a great opportunity for highschool kids to work with friends to make their ideas come to life. Congratulations to all the participants of HackTJ and Congratulations to Sophia Huang and team on receiving the Vishnu Murthy Best Social Good Hack award! Shout out to all the kids who worked hard to organize the event and their teachers who supported them. Below is the letter from Sophia to Vishnu Murthy Foundation.

Dear Vishnu Murthy Foundation,
I sincerely appreciate your sponsorship of this year’s Hack TJ event. The Social Good category inspired my team and me to develop Jot-It, an AI-powered mobile application designed to detect and interpret doctors’ handwritten prescriptions, aiding hospitals and medical teams in underserved regions.
We are truly honored to have received the Vishnu Murthy Best Social Good Hack award this year. This recognition encourages us to continue using technology for positive impact, and we hope this category will continue to inspire future generations of young coders.
Thank you for your generous support of the TJ community and STEM students. Your organization has had a meaningful impact on my time at TJ—I often enjoy the memorial bench in my school’s courtyard with my friends, I recently had the pleasure of applying for your scholarship which would greatly help my family afford college, and now, through Hack TJ, I’ve been further inspired to use technology for good.
I am so grateful for everything the Vishnu Murthy Foundation does for students like me.
Best regards,
Sophia Huang
