Vishnu Murthy Foundation Scholarship 2023
Commemorating Vishnu’s 22nd birthday
May 24th was a joyous day when you came into our world Vishnu. We celebrate you Vishnu through our hearts and actions to make a difference in the community.
Through Vishnu Murthy Foundation, we established a $1000 yearly scholarship this year in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) via College Access Fairfax to continue Vishnu’s dreams and passion in STEM. Any graduating senior from FCPS who plans to attend a four-year college/university and pursue a degree in a STEM field in order to make the world a better and brighter place can apply to this scholarship via College Access Fairfax from this year onwards.
We were very happy to see 60 bright young kids across the Fairfax county public schools apply for the scholarship this year.
We would like to extend our hearty congratulations to Anish Sursala, Senior at TJHSST who is the recipient of Vishnu Murthy memorial scholarship this year 2022-2023. Anish created a student-centered Psychology Society Club to help fellow students. Anish is an avid Geography enthusiast and is Virginia’s State Geographic Bee Champion. Currently Anish is undertaking an epic web/mobile application for uploading chest x-rays for instantaneous classification of geographic and severity scores which will lead to more expeditious radiological readings and therefore, treatment options. Anish continues to distinguish himself with his academics, his community service and with his ingenuity and curiosity. We are positive students like Anish will make a positive difference in this world through his education and knowledge. We wish Anish Sursala all the very best for a bright future as he heads off to NYU this fall.
We would also like to congratulate Praneeth Bhandaru who received a $250 gift voucher for his contributions to the student community. Praneeth is a member of his school’s advisory council and strives to show empathy and support for his fellow students. He has implemented a variety of initiatives that have contributed to student well-being and empowerment. He implemented a self-advocacy guide that has helped students to more effectively communicate their needs and ideas to staff and administrators. In addition, he created a mental wellness room that helps students destress during school hours. Each of these initiatives by Praneeth has been successful in improving student well-being. We wish Praneeth much success as he heads off to Princeton University this fall.
We would like to thank Dr.Bonitatibus, Principal TJHSST for all her support and for her help and support to us throughout the years and for helping us award the scholarships to Anish & Praneeth. We also would like to thank Mr.Roth from TJHSST for helping us facilitate the event.
Vishnu – Wishing you a very happy heavenly 22nd birthday my dear! You continue to live through us, through our prayers, through our acts of kindness and through our best intentions to the society we live in.
